Research Areas
- The C-terminal tripeptide (residues 11–13) of α-MSH. It lacks the motif required for melanocortin receptor binding.
- In vitro studies have examined interference with NF-κB nuclear translocation via the importin-α3/p65 (RelA) transport complex.
- Cellular uptake through the PepT1 transporter has been characterised in intestinal and immune cells.
- DSS- and TNBS-induced colitis models in mice have been used, with myeloperoxidase activity and inflammatory markers among the endpoints measured.
- Epithelial cell-culture and transdermal delivery studies across microporated human skin have been reported.
Handling and Storage
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial. Store as stated above, protected from light and moisture, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Any reconstitution must take place in a controlled laboratory setting.
