What Personal Data We Collect

  • Contact and account details (name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number) provided when you register an account or place an order.
  • Order history and delivery details.
  • Payment details, such as the bank account name and payment reference associated with your bank transfer. We do not collect or store card details.
  • Your messages and details, if you contact us through the contact form on this website (see “Contact Form Enquiries” below).
  • Age and researcher-status confirmation, collected through our entry gate, to verify eligibility to access this site.
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser details and cookie data (see “Cookies” below).

Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

  • Contract: to process and fulfil your orders, manage your account, and handle returns or queries.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with tax, accounting and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
  • Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud, keep this site secure, answer enquiries and improve our services.
  • Consent: where you have opted in to receive marketing emails, or agreed to cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.

Contact Form Enquiries

If you send us a message through the contact form on our website, we collect the name and email address you enter and the content of your message. We use this to reply to your enquiry and keep the record for as long as needed to deal with your query and any follow-up. The message is sent to our email address. Please do not include payment details or sensitive personal information in your message.

Cookies

We use cookies for core site functionality, such as keeping you logged in and remembering your cart. Login cookies last up to two days (two weeks if “Remember Me” is selected), and screen display cookies last up to a year. Where we use cookies for any other purpose, we only do so with your consent. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some site functionality may not work correctly without them.

Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the following, and only as far as needed for the stated purpose:

  • Our bank, to receive and reconcile your payment by bank transfer.
  • Our shipping and courier partners, including any label or postage service we use, to fulfil and deliver your order. This means your name, delivery address, phone number and email address.
  • Our website hosting and IT providers, who store and process data on our behalf to run this website and your account.
  • Our professional advisers and accountants, where needed for tax, accounting and legal compliance.
  • Regulatory or law enforcement bodies, where we are legally required to disclose information.

Where these providers handle your data on our behalf, they may only use it to provide their service to us.

International Data Transfers

Where any of our service providers are located outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in line with UK GDPR requirements.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain account and order data for as long as your account is active, and for 6 years afterward to meet our legal, tax and regulatory recordkeeping obligations. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and are then deleted. You can request earlier deletion of your data, subject to these legal retention requirements (see “Your Rights” below).

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your data, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at Contact@huntresearchlabs.com If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
