Research Areas
- The copper(II) complex of the tripeptide Gly-His-Lys, first isolated from human plasma.
- In isolated human fibroblast cultures, studies have examined proliferation and levels of collagen and secreted pro-MMP-2 at nanomolar concentrations.
- Rat wound-tissue studies have measured collagen, glycosaminoglycan levels and decorin expression.
- RAW 264.7 macrophage cultures have been used to examine LPS-induced reactive oxygen species, IL-6 and TNF-α.
- A mouse model of LPS-induced acute lung injury has been used to measure superoxide dismutase activity, glutathione and bronchoalveolar lavage protein.
- X-ray and solution structure studies have characterised the copper(II) coordination geometry and redox properties of the complex.
Handling and Storage
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial. Store as stated above, protected from light and moisture, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Any reconstitution must take place in a controlled laboratory setting.
