Research Areas
- A synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly), developed as a simplified analogue of Epithalamin, a pineal-gland extract.
- In vitro studies in human fetal fibroblast cultures have examined telomerase (TERT) expression, telomere length and replicative capacity. A 2025 study reported replication of the telomerase findings in normal breast epithelial and fibroblast cell lines.
- Research has examined chromatin structure, including decondensation of pericentromeric heterochromatin, and expression of age-repressed genes.
- Studies have examined nocturnal melatonin secretion in relation to pineal-axis function.
- Rodent lifespan studies under different lighting regimens have been reported.
- Most of the published work comes from a single research group, so independent replication is limited.
Handling and Storage
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial. Store as stated above, protected from light and moisture, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Any reconstitution must take place in a controlled laboratory setting.
